It holds a regular leather social, typically on a Saturday evening at Pennylane on Strand Street. The socials are open to all, the dress code is whatever you feel comfortable in with leather encouraged, and its about page says gear is optional and that it does not tolerate discrimination. The group also runs the Dublin Leather Weekend, which takes place in late January; the 2027 weekend is scheduled for 22 to 24 January.

Nimhneach is a fetish club night set up by Dublin kinksters in 2005 and held in central licensed venues. It is for adults only, asks for ID if you look younger than 21, and enforces a dress code at the door. It says it is not a sex club, offers a meet and greet before the night for first-timers, and publishes a code of behaviour worth reading in advance. If you want to start gently

Not everyone wants a dress code on their first night, and the organisers say so themselves. Nimhneach suggests that people who do not want to dress up try a munch instead. A munch is a casual meet-up in a bar or cafe where nobody plays and everyday clothes are normal. The Leathermen of Ireland socials are relaxed in the same way, with no pressure to wear anything in particular.

Outside Dublin

For Cork, Galway and Limerick we could not find events or groups with their own published pages, so we would rather say so than guess. The practical route is online. Search by distance, talk to people near you, and meet somewhere public for a first conversation. Many members find it worth travelling to Dublin for a social once they know someone who will be there.
